Handicapped / Wheelchair friendly room
We have one wheelchair friendly room at the guest house. Please let the reception staff know about any special needs when making the booking. This room is also used by regular guests. Please book in advance.
The following special features are incorporated:
- A curbless shower is ideal for people using a wheelchair, walker or for someone who is at risk for falls and can be used by everyone regardless of ability. The opening to the shower is level with the floor and is sloped down to the drain.
- Installed grab bars for a transfer to shower seat
- Shower controls where operator can use them without getting wet.
- A handheld adjustable shower head with a long cord that can accommodate a seated bather.
- A lowered basin which can be approached from the front, with a lower placed extra-long mirror that everyone can use.
- A higher toilet seat makes it easier to lower, stand, or transfer from a wheelchair/walker to the toilet.
- Transfer space for a front or side transfer from a wheelchair.
Lower light switches so someone in a wheelchair can access them. - Widened doorway for wheelchair access. Doors with lever style door handles that are easier to use than doorknobs.
- Pull switch to switch off room lights from the bed.
Intercom phone to reception on floor level for emergencies.
